Harnessing the power of AI to transform advanced materials research.
WHO WE ARE
The Wisconsin Impact Nexus: AI for Materials (WIN-AIM) initiative is a bold new collaboration supported by the Grainger Institute for Engineering and the Wisconsin Impact Nexus program. The effort is designed to harness the power of artificial intelligence to transform how we discover, design, optimize, and qualify advanced materials.
Bringing together expertise from multiple College of Engineering departments and partners across campus—including the School for Computer, Data & Information Sciences, the College of Letters and Science, and the UW RISE-AI Initiative—this effort aims to build a strong network of researchers and industry partners, identify our intersecting priorities, and work together to define and pursue our common innovation goals.

We acknowledge the generous financial and in-kind support provided by the Grainger Institute for Engineering, including seed funding and essential contributions from its communications, entrepreneurship, industry relations, and project management teams. We further appreciate the individuals at GIE and the broader support from RISE-AI in advancing the WIN-AIM mission.
